How Porchlight works

A simple directory for seniors and people with disabilities who need the lawn cut, a step fixed, or a county program that already pays for the work. Neighbors helping neighbors. Porchlight is free. Official website: ourporchlight.app.

  1. 1

    Set your town

Use the city menu at the top. We start in Cocoa. Helpers only show if they actually work in that town.

  2. 2

    Pick the job

Lawn, trees, repair, paint, gutters, plumbing, ramps, or cleanup. Or type a few words into Find help.

  3. 3

    Look at the price mark

Green Free means a public program or nonprofit. Call for price means a local business you hire. Donations never change who appears first.

  4. 4

    Call

The big green button dials the helper. You do not need an account. You never pay Porchlight.

Stay safe when someone comes over

Porchlight is a community directory, not a contractor or service provider. Homeowners should independently verify licensing, insurance, pricing, and other credentials before hiring a provider.

  • Prefer helpers with a License verified or Insurance verified badge. Ask for the license number and an insurance certificate.
  • Agree on the price before work begins. Get it in writing if you can.
  • Do not pay cash up front for a roof or a big tree job.
  • A neighbor or family member on the porch is a good idea.
  • For fire, flood, or a gas smell, call 911.

What this app is — and is not

OurPorchLight is a community resource initiative of PORCH LIGHT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC. It connects seniors, people with disabilities, homeowners, families, and local providers with information about lawn care, home maintenance, and other community resources.

The platform provides information and resource navigation. It does not promise repairs, grants, or other help the foundation does not itself provide.

OurPorchLight is free for the community. Inclusion of a resource or provider is not an endorsement. Neighbors should verify eligibility, licensing, price, and suitability before they rely on a listing.

Business listings use real public shop phones. County, city, and 211 numbers are official contacts. Your donation is completely voluntary. There is no required vendor fee. We do not invent star ratings. Always confirm hours, price, and license when you call.

Porchlight is free for seniors, disabled seniors, homeowners, caregivers, and neighbors. No one pays to find help, request help, or call a vendor. Porchlight is a community directory connecting residents with local service providers. Homeowners should independently verify applicable licensing, insurance, references, and pricing before hiring a provider.
